The Only Disability Is When People Cannot See Human Potential -Debra Ruh

The purpose of education is to integrate all students with involving not only our peers but also our community. I believe in a student's-based learning environment where material and learning are soley based on a student's specific needs. My role as an educator is to create an environment that will encourage and support creativity, problem-solving, and working together. All while working together with our students' parents and our community around us.

For my students I will encourage and utilize hands on working and teaching them skills sets for not only the classroom but for their everyday lives outside of school. I will work with outside sources such as therapists, and coaches that my students. I will be implementing court systems, agencies and all other resources that may benefit my students. I will set goals with not only my students but with their parents as well. I will track these goals and assessments through their IEP in which we will set in stone every year. My goal is to create a learning environment where the students feel safe and heard. I am constantly learning new ways of teaching and understanding the importance of inclusion in my classrooms.
